Another Pay Cut?
Vulnerable post ahead! We want to approach this blog with full transparency to our readers. We hope that you can glean something from our life experiences. At the beginning of 2025, Michael and I started standing in faith for financial prosperity. Specifically, paying off all debt in 2025 with a certain dollar amount each month, building our dream home by 2028 or sooner, and profiting from the blog. Well, we wrote down our goals, began to claim them, and BAM, another pay cut. We had already taken a pay cut in August of 2024 and I lost my IC position in October of 2024, essentially cutting my income in half again. Just when we grew stronger in our faith, satan knocked us down again.
What this means for us
What this means is that at our current monthly income, we'll pay off our debt in the next 4 or 5 years and potentially be able to build our home around 5-10 years after our debt is paid off. I know what you're thinking, "They must have a TON of debt". Well, we do, from our student loans, but that's in another category. Our current consumer debt could be paid off in 6 to 12 months with our previous income totals. It really isn't that much, but at this point, neither is our income. We've always been faithful with our tithing, frugal with our budget, and got rid of frivolous spending a long time ago. We had been working on the Dave Ramsey Plan for almost a year and had paid off several of our prior debts. In this day and age, however, our bare minimum is still just that, minimum.
What are we doing about it?
We're STILL standing in faith! Whether we see our dreams come true in our time or His is irrelevant. God is still on the throne and we are choosing to continue to trust in Him. While our situation is certainly uncomfortable, we are not despaired, for we know that the Lord is with us. The Bible adamantly states that He will not forsake or leave us. This phrase is mentioned multiple times and we take comfort in its truth. How I wish I had my Grandma Connie's faith. She stood by my grandpa for almost 50 years in their ministry before she passed away. If anyone ever knew hard times, it's my grandparents. Through it all, they always remained faithful. Michael and I are standing in that same faith. Is it easy? No! It's honestly the hardest thing we've ever done. Seeing and believing for something that we have no control over is unbelievably difficult. But, with daily Bible reading, increased prayers, and a new-found grit, we WILL come out victorious.
Continuing to Claim
We are continuing to claim our goals. Keep an eye out for an update on this post. Whether we achieve our debt payoff in 2025 remains to be seen, but we strive to draw closer to the Lord and claim His blessings on our lives for both us and the kids. We implore you to do the same. Know, always, that you are never alone. He is with you, if only you draw near to Him.

I’m in a financial situation also. Definitely nothing like yours of course. But I do share your belief that God will provide. He WILL provide. It will happen. And all we have to do is trust Him. And patiently wait. Dave Ramsey is great. Thank you so SO much for sharing your faith and convictions. It is encouraging. You are always daily in my prayers.

Thank you so much for your kind words! Yes, although it is hard to trust sometimes, we know that everything will work out.
