A fun night of Moana
Last Saturday, Michael and I threw the kids a fun Moana-themed movie night. For us, this was a fun, island-inspired night. With the decor, we wanted to capture the vibes of Motunui. We decided that we'd do one of these movie nights once a month while the kids are still young and can appreciate the simple times with Mom and Dad. We made the food and decorated our small kitchen table with our spread.
What we served for Moana
We made it super easy and grabbed all the food from Hawaiian Bros. It fit the theme perfectly and made the night go so smoothly.
Entree
- Pua's Pulled Pork Sandwiches. We decided to buy the pulled pork from Hawaiian Bros and make our own sliders with King's Hawaiian rolls. They turned out so delicious!
- Heihei's Honolulu Chicken. The chicken was top-notch, and we'll definitely be ordering it again.

Side Dishes
- Moana's Macaroni Salad. Their macaroni salad has a slight sweetness to it that made it a different experience. Macklin especially enjoyed this dish.
- Maui's White Rice. The rice paired extremely well with the chicken!

Desserts
- Ocean's Blue Island Wave. Unfortunately, when we went to order, they were out of the Blue Island Wave. We pivoted and ordered a strawberry/pineapple swirl and it was delicious!

Drinks
- Mango Lemonade. This was sooo good. It honestly tasted better than I thought it would and I will order this every time we hit up Hawaiian Bros.

The Set Up
We got a perfect purple ocean patterned tablecloth for our small table and used a balloon Arch Kit that fit the Moana theme. I used the square balloon arch, and it made it so much easier to attach the balloons. We used an blue sky backdrop and it blended perfectly behind the ocean tablecloth. We decided to go with neutral servingware so we could use it for subsequent movie nights!

We can't wait for our next movie night. We're already planning to do a 101 Dalmatians movie night next month. Let us know in the comments if you had as much fun as we did doing an Aladdin-themed movie night. We'd love to hear from you!
