A fun night
Last Saturday, Michael and I threw the kids a fun Thomas the Train-themed movie night. MJ's very favorite thing is Thomas the Tank Engine right now. We decided that we'd do one of these movie nights once a month while the kids are still young and can appreciate the simple times with Mom and Dad. We made the food and decorated our small kitchen table with our spread.
What we served
I searched Pinterest and got a lot of great inspiration. We decided to do some English foods for a fun spin.
Appetizers
- Sir Topham Hat's Sausage Rolls. We went to our local bakery and picked up a few of these. They were absolutely delicious.

Entrees
- Ferdinand's Fish. We decided on basic frozen fish fillets. Michael and I aren't huge fish eaters, so we didn't want to venture into anything too exotic.
- Charlie's Chips. English chips, or French fries, are more like steak-cut fries. We air-fried them for a perfect crisp.

Desserts
- Percy's Peanut Butter Cookies. This was a fun way to incorporate another character into the Thomas theme.

Drinks
- Thomas's Tea. Nothing is more English than tea. We did decide to serve it cold, instead of hot. But we think we got the point across.

We got a blue tablecloth for our small table and used a light blue backdrop with clouds! A lot of the Thomas episodes open in the clouds, so we loved incorporating this look. The balloon garland is a perfect mix of Thomas's Sodor colors. The big Thomas balloon was a great addition to the table and really added to the theme. We decided to go with neutral servingware so we could use it for subsequent movie nights!
