Frozen Themed Movie Night

A fun night of Frozen

Last Saturday, Michael and I threw the kids a fun Frozen-themed movie night. We ended up watching both Frozen and Frozen 2. The kids love both of them, but they preferred the original one. We decided that we'd do one of these movie nights once a month while the kids are still young and can appreciate the simple times with Mom and Dad. We made the food and decorated our small kitchen table with our spread.

What we served for The Frozen Movie Night

I searched Pinterest and got a lot of great inspiration. I utilized several ideas from The Fairytale Foodie Blog. She has some AMAZING ideas for Disney nights. Y'all should definitely check it out.

Appetizers

Olaf's Nose Carrot Sticks and Ranch. This was such a fun one. Getting the kids to eat anything healthy is a challenge, but calling them Olaf's Nose did the trick.

Entrees

Sven's Swedish Meatballs. I used this recipe, but added a tablespoon of garlic. We served them over potatoes instead of with noodles and they were delicious!
Anna's garlic mashed potatoes. These were such a great addition to the meatballs. Such a warm comfort meal when it was less than 20 degrees outside.

Desserts

Do You Want to Build a Snowman? Donuts. We used powdered donut holes and built a snowman. For the nose, we used orange Reese's pieces and small pretzel sticks for the arms.
We Finish Each Other's (Cookie) Sandwiches. I knew we didn't want deli sandwiches to be part of the meal, so I used the ice cream sandwich idea from the Fairytale Foodie blog. They went perfectly for dessert.

Drinks

Queen Elsa's Mocktails. This was a fun one. We used dye-free food color in limeade for a fun blue hue. We did use regular colored sugar on the rim, but the kids didn't drink from those glasses. I added some freeze-dried Jolly Ranchers on top, but they melted in before I got a picture.

The Set Up

We got a light blue tablecloth for our small table and used a winter backdrop for the backdrop! We used a fun foil balloon to complete the backdrop. The balloon cloud really added the perfect touch. We decided to go with neutral servingware so we could use it for subsequent movie nights!
