A fun night of Aladdin
Last Saturday, Michael and I threw the kids a fun Aladdin-themed movie night. For us, this was a fun, magical walk down memory lane. With the decor, we wanted to capture the vibes of Agrabah. We decided that we'd do one of these movie nights once a month while the kids are still young and can appreciate the simple times with Mom and Dad. We made the food and decorated our small kitchen table with our spread.
What we served for Aladdin
I searched Pinterest and got a lot of great inspiration. We decided to go with some traditional Middle Eastern foods.
Appetizers
- The Sultan's cracker and hummus platter. This was a fun play on the crackers that the Sultan is constantly feeding Iago.
- Abu's stolen fruit platter. As Abu is always stealing fruit, we thought this was a fun addition.

Entree
- Aladdin's Shawarma Chicken. This was so delicious and went perfectly with our Agrabah theme.
- Jasmine's White Rice. We're not very adventurous when it comes to rice, so we went with plain white rice. You could definitely up the ante and do a fun flavored rice.

Desserts
- Magic Carpet Fruit Scones. This was just a fancy way of saying Pop-Tarts. These worked perfectly as little magic carpets.

Drinks
- Genie Mocktails. We mixed some blue Kool-Aid with some shimmer dust for that perfect, magical treat.

The Set Up
We got a perfect purple Middle-Eastern patterned tablecloth for our small table and used a balloon Arch Kit that fit the Aladdin theme. I used the square balloon arch, and it made it so much easier to attach the balloons. We used an Agrabah backdrop and some star foil balloons for the balloon base. We decided to go with neutral servingware so we could use it for subsequent movie nights!

We can't wait for our next movie night. We're already planning to do a Moana movie night in July to celebrate the release of the live-action movie. Let us know in the comments if you had as much fun as we did doing an Aladdin-themed movie night. We'd love to hear from you!
