Struggling with perseverance?
This post has since changed its tone after the events of today, 09/10/2025. It is more important than ever to PERSEVERE until the end. Perseverance is needed more than ever. This past year, Michael and I have found it difficult to continue on the path that we think Jesus has laid out for us. We've had a lot of curveballs thrown our way. We've had financial hurdles, personal struggles, and dealing with two kiddos on top of everything is impossible some days. Although after today, I count my blessings that Michael and I are still here to raise our two precious babies.
Regardless of the trials we've faced, Michael and I continue to pour into the Bible and take solace in the truth of the Word. These are our favorite verses that encompass perseverance. The verses help us keep going, fighting the good fight. We hope you can find some truth to them as well.

1. Romans 5:3-4
And not only this, but we also exult in our tribulations, knowing that tribulation brings about perseverance; and perseverance, proven character; and proven character, hope.
2. Hebrews 12:1-2
Therefore, since we have so great a cloud of witnesses surrounding us, let us also lay aside every encumbrance and the sin which so easily entangles us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, fixing our eyes on Jesus, the author and perfecter of faith, who for the joy set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God.
3. Philippians 3:13-14
Brethren, I do not regard myself as having laid hold of it yet; but one thing I do: forgetting what lies behind and reaching forward to what lies ahead, I press on toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
4. Proverbs 4:25-26
Let your eyes look directly ahead And let your gaze be fixed straight in front of you. Watch the path of your feet And all your ways will be established.
5. James 1:12
Blessed is a man who perseveres under trial; for once he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life which the Lord has promised to those who love Him.
6. 2 Timothy 2:12
If we endure, we will also reign with Him; If we deny Him, He also will deny us;
7. Philippians 1:6
For I am confident of this very thing, that He who began a good work among you will complete it by the day of Christ Jesus.
8. Galatians 6:9
Let us not lose heart in doing good, for in due time we will reap if we do not grow weary.
9. Matthew 10:22
“You will be hated by all because of My name, but it is the one who has endured to the end who will be saved.
10. 2 Chronicles 15:7
“But you, be strong and do not lose courage, for there is reward for your work.”
11. Lamentations 3:22-23
The LORD’S lovingkindnesses indeed never cease, For His compassions never fail. They are new every morning; Great is Your faithfulness.
12. 2 Timothy 4:7
I have fought the good fight, I have finished the course, I have kept the faith;
13. 1 Peter 4:19
Therefore, those also who suffer according to the will of God shall entrust their souls to a faithful Creator in doing what is right.
14. Isaiah 43:2
“When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; And through the rivers, they will not overflow you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be scorched, Nor will the flame burn you.
Bonus Verse Romans 8:18
For I consider that the sufferings of this present time are not worthy to be compared with the glory that is to be revealed to us.
This verse rings even more true after today's events. So much suffering today, but the glory revealed is far greater.
Final Thoughts about Perserverance
We hope you find some comfort in these verses. While the road may seem difficult, let today be a lesson for all of us. Be ready, persevere until the end. The final day comes for us all. For Michael and me, this is easier said than done. But we continue to grow our faith and lean on Him in all things. We encourage you to do the same.
