A fun night

Last Saturday, Michael and I threw the kids a fun Nightmare Before Christmas-themed movie night. It was one of my favorite movies when I was MJ's age and he loves it just as much as I did. We decided that we'd do one of these movie nights once a month while the kids are still young and can appreciate the simple times with Mom and Dad. We made the food and decorated our small kitchen table with our spread.

What we served

I searched Pinterest and utilized ChatGPT and got a lot of great inspiration. We decided to do an Italian theme for a fun spin on The Nightmare Before Christmas.

Entree

  • The Mayor's Two-Faced Pizza. We did Casey's half-and-half pizza to really emulate the Mayor's rotating face.

Sides

  • Oogie Boogie's Wormy Pasta. We used tri-colored pasta to look like different colored worms and homemade Alfredo sauce. It was a fun, gross twist for the kids.
  • Lock, Shock, & Barrel's Trick or Cheese Breadsticks. We used Casey's loaded 4 cheese breadsticks, and they worked perfectly.
  • Sally's Patchwork Fruit Salad. We made a fruit salad of strawberries, cantaloupe, grapes, blueberries, honeydew, and apples to really represent the patchwork on her dress.

Desserts

  • Dr. Finkelstein's Cupcakes. We decorated chocolate cupcakes with a fun Halloween mix of sprinkles to give it that mad scientist look

Drinks

  • Jack Skelington's Juice. This was an easy one. I used a black dry-erase marker on our pitcher and we filled it with milk. It looked just like Jack's pinstripe suit.

We got a purple spiderweb tablecloth for our small table and used a black tablecloth for a backdrop. The balloon garland has all the perfect colors to represent The Nightmare Before Christmas. The Jack balloon was a perfect addition to the backdrop. We decided to go with neutral servingware so we could use it for subsequent movie nights!
