The Incredibles: A SUPER night

Last Saturday, Michael and I decided to throw the kids a fun The Incredibles-themed movie night. It's one of Michael's favorite Disney-Pixar movies and MJ is getting more and more into it. This was our third time doing these movie nights, once a month. We want to continue doing these while the kids are still young and can appreciate the simple times with Mom and Dad. We made the food and decorated our small kitchen table with our spread.

What we served

I searched Pinterest and got a lot of great inspiration. Some of these ideas we took directly and others were Michael and I's original ideas. We served a lot of toddler-friendly food, however, we did sneak a healthy choice in there as well.

Appetizers

  • Violet's Veggies and Dash's Dip. This was just carrots, celery, and cherry tomatoes with ranch dip.
  • Mirage's Mozzarella Sticks. We made this easy and utilized our air fryer to crisp them up.

Entrees

  • Bob's Boneless BBQ Wings. These were so good. We used the Tyson boneless chicken bites and made a homemade BBQ sauce. Get the recipe for the sauce here. Served with ranch, they hit the spot as the perfect movie night food.
  • Elestagirl's Twisty Fries. Using Arby's curly fries really gets that elastic look to represent Helen.

Desserts

  • Jack Jack's Nom Nom Cookies. Technically, this food was inspired by The Incredibles 2. But they were delicious. You can find the recipe here.
  • Frozone's Frozen Treats. We decided to serve Yasso Greek Yogurt Bars. I left the name more generic, so we could essentially use any type of frozen dessert.

Drinks

  • Syndrome's Sparkling Water. Traditionally, we don't let MJ have anything other than milk or water, however, there have been very few exceptions. This one was a fun one to try because it was still water, but it had a fun carbonated kick.

The Incredibles set up

We got a red tablecloth for our small table and bought a backdrop that resembled a superhero city. The buildings work perfectly for the theme and we figured we could recycle it for later use! The balloon clusters really brought the superhero feel! We decided to go with neutral servingware so we could use it for subsequent movie nights!

Here's everything we used for the tablescape!

Now it's your turn!

This was such a fun night and the kids had a GREAT time. To make it easy for you, we've made the food labels and menu available for download. Click here to download them.

We can't wait for our next movie night. We're already planning to do a Monster's Inc. theme. We're going to incorporate breakfast for dinner for a fun spin. Let us know in the comments if you had as much fun as we did doing The Incredibles Movie Night. We'd love to hear from you!
